Mission Statement The Doulas of the Lane County Birth Network is a group of professionally trained doulas who work within evidence-based standards of practice. Our mission is to enhance the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health of mothers, babies, and families through education and loving support during pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. Doulas of the LCBN networks with other birth professionals to promote mother-friendly childbirth practices and to increase women's access to professional labor support. Doulas of the LCBN sponsors events and publications to inform the community about the roles and benefits of doula care in the childbearing and postpartum experience. The mission is four-fold:
We abide by the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics of the following national professional organizations: These organizations certify doulas using an international standard in order to improve maternal and child health through quality labor support and client advocacy.
