Since the birth of
my first child I have felt deeply and passionately about birth
and about every woman's right to give birth in dignity and
power. My birth experiences were empowering and deeply
transformative for me. In all the years since that time I have
carried within me a deep trust in my body's amazing abilities,
strengths, and wisdom. As a doula my goal is to help familiarize
you with the natural process of birth; and to empower and
encourage you so that you feel prepared and confident in your
ability to meet the physical and emotional challenges of labor.
Throughout labor and birth I am there to offer labor-coping
techniques, guidance and support, a calm, reassuring presence,
and to ensure that your baby is received in an atmosphere of
awareness, sensitivity and love. It is an honor and a joy to
assist women in birth, and I strive with an open heart to bring
just what is needed to each occasion.

The
incredibly powerful experience of childbirth has influenced my life
from the moment I entered the world. One day in a fleeting moment I
realized my life’s passion, that ‘I am a doula.’ I have been an
advocate for women and children throughout my personal and
professional career in various capacities, both locally and
internationally. After the birth of my child, I became deeply
fascinated in the natural health and well being of babies and
mothers, and in traditional methods of childbirth. I am now an
Herbal Practitioner, specializing in pregnancy, birth, postpartum,
and infant care, and founded the baby and mama care company, Mama
Rose’s Naturals. I fully appreciate and embrace the opportunity to
provide support, information, and choices to mothers, encouraging
them to listen to their own inner strength and wisdom. It is my
honor to assist families throughout the unique and miraculous
experience of greeting a new life into their world.

Service to women, babies and their
families is my joy! It is an honor to be a supportive presence
during the sacred time of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. I
offer comfort to ease the challenging aspects of this time and
answers to the questions that may arise. I strive to protect the
sacredness of birth. I am committed to honoring a woman's
individual choices and needs as well as empowering through
education. Using my 13 years of experience with botanical medicine and
aromatherapy, I help to ease the childbearing year. I received my
training at the Seattle Midwifery School in 1997 and have been
practicing as a doula since 2000. I am actively studying midwifery
and currently am an Assistant Midwife. My experience is
multifaceted, supporting births at the hospital, birth center and
home. I specialize in VBAC and waterbirth. I offer massage, Chinese
Moxabustion for postpartum, gem therapy, handmade herbal products,
nutritional support and superfoods and birth photography. May you
birth with bliss!

Ann
Magee, a practicing birth
doula, offers nurturing support to mothers and their families that
complement the care of midwives and doctors in a warm, professional
and non-judgmental manner. A
Birthing
From Within
Mentor,
Ann also offers childbirth
classes where practical information is exchanged through lively
dialogues, creative exercises, and the practice of effective pain
coping techniques. Working closely with partners,
Ann provides informational,
emotional, physical and spiritual comfort to pregnant and laboring
women. Ann believes that birth
is a profound rite of passage, honoring each mother’s choice in how
she brings her child into this world. When working with
Ann, a mother gains confidence
in her ability to birth a baby by being encouraged to love her body,
listen to her body and to trust her body.
Ann tailors her care to what is
needed in a specific moment and, when needed,
Ann gently guides mothers and
their families through unexpected or unwelcome events that may occur
in labor. As a mother, Ann has
personally experienced the beauty of pregnancy and the wisdom and
power that comes from childbirth and is honored to share in this
transformational experience with other mothers.

I
believe that pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood are the most
formative times for the baby and the family, and what happens during
this period has a long lasting effect for the future. My greatest
desire is to be a positive influence in this sacred event. I believe
in being of pure service to the needs of each family I serve with
acceptance, loving care, positive regard, and whole-hearted support
of their choices and unique journey. I strive to create a strong
sense of team, confidence, and nurturance. The families I have
worked with have brought me many wonderful and diverse experiences
and skills over the years I have worked as a doula in hospital, home
and birth center settings. I feel confident in working with any
special circumstances such as adoption, multiples, and complicated
pregnancies or births. I have personally experienced the power and
magic of birth as a mother or four, including twins. They have been
the inspiration for my continuing work in the field of childbirth
and parenting education and support.
